Text Water & Steam, by LA BIBI + REUS, creates a dual space -pool and sauna- as a metaphor for hedonism and the body. Featuring six artists born in the 1980s, the show explores expanded painting through themes of play, identity, discipline, and Mediterranean leisure.

Water & Steam, a proposal by LA BIBI + REUS, presents a dual atmosphere -pool and sauna- that functions as a metaphor for contemporary hedonism and the perception of the body in leisure contexts. Within this setting are the works of six artists born in the 1980s: Bel Fullana (1985, Mallorca), Martin Paaskesen (1985, Copenhagen), Lukas Glinkowski (1984, Düsseldorf), Paul Riedmüller (1989, Vienna), Grip Face (1989, Palma de Mallorca), and José Fiol (1988, Palma de Mallorca). All of them explore the boundaries of painting through an expanded and installation-based approach.

In the pool, the works of Fullana, Paaskesen, and Glinkowski address themes of playfulness, tourism, and urban life. Fullana critically and humorously reflects on mass tourism in Mallorca. Paaskesen embraces a free gestural style that evokes the body. Glinkowski combines graffiti and everyday symbols to map spaces of consumption. The sauna hosts more introspective proposals. Grip Face explores identity in times of sensory overload. Riedmüller turns painting into a sculptural object with articulated wooden arms. Fiol presents his series The Green Fog, where the figure of the tennis player symbolizes tensions between discipline and desire.

The exhibition offers a critical and poetic reading of contemporary painting, navigating themes of pleasure, the body, and Mediterranean culture.
