CALLUM GREEN

Biography
Callum Green (b. 1991) is a London-based painter whose abstract works distill gesture, color, and surface into a refined visual language. His paintings explore the essential spark that brings an artwork to life, questioning what is truly necessary to activate a composition.

Working primarily in oils, Green’s paintings are rich in texture and depth, with layered glazes and gestural marks that create a dynamic interplay of movement and restraint. Language—both visual and verbal—is central to his practice. Meaning emerges through the juxtaposition of forms, colors, and gestures, while his evocative titles extend the conversation beyond the canvas, referencing physical qualities, landscapes, time, or fragments of daily life.

His works are conceived in series, with ideas ricocheting across the studio, each painting acting as an anecdote in an ongoing dialogue. Through this process, Green constructs an abstract yet deeply expressive world—one that invites viewers to engage, interpret, and find their own connections within the rhythm of his mark-making.
