LA BIBI + REUS presents a project where painting expands beyond the canvas. Fátima de Juan blends the human and the symbolic, Riedmüller explores the digital and tangible, while Green and Srger push chromatic and gestural boundaries, creating a dynamic pictorial dialogue.

On the occasion of its participation in Art Rotterdam, LA BIBI + REUS presents a proposal where painting overflows, dialogues and expands beyond the canvas. In a space that evokes the unfinished, the raw, the industrial, the work of Fatima de Juan, Callum Green, Paul Riedmüller and Srger are exhibited. The walls of the stand, covered with wooden planks, reinforce this undercooked aesthetic, functioning as a stage in which the works resonate with the notion of process.

The central piece, “Mujer Palmera” by Fátima de Juan, represents the intersection between the human figure and the symbolic. On her canvas, a moving element, a fuyu (a Japanese fruit), introduces the notion of displacement and change, while taking the painting to a sculptural dimension. The concept of the pictorial as the result of a hybrid process is also manifested in Paul Riedmüller's still lifes. His exploration of everyday objects generates compositions that oscillate between the digital and the tangible, offering a contemporary look at the nature of the image in the post-digital age.

Callum Green and Srger's abstract paintings establish a dialogue between chromatic experimentation and gestural intuition. While Green immerses himself in color as an autonomous phenomenon that builds up the layered space of the canvas, Srger pushes the boundaries of painting with an expanded installation that comes off the wall, inhabiting the space with an almost performative energy.

In this stand, painting is not only image, but experience, object and process. Each work constructs a space where materials, forms and concepts intertwine, inviting the viewer to immerse himself in a pictorial territory in constant transformation.
